As Assembly Local Government Chair, it is my priority to foster local investment in public infrastructure projects, affordable housing, and supportive housing.
I know that Californians know what their families and neighbors need. This bill will empower local communities to address local priorities without needing to wait for state and federal funding initiatives.
With this Constitutional Amendment, local governments could propose local bonds or special taxes for community infrastructure and affordable housing projects to voters at a more reasonable 55% vote threshold (rather than 2/3).
