LAKEPORT— Assemblywoman Cecilia Aguiar-Curry met with the Lakeport Unified School District governing board Saturday and promised to try and assist them with expediting a budget request for state bond monies to secure $14 million needed for completion of construction of a new pool, tennis court and weight room.
“As a district we passed a bond in 2014 and we are working on quite a few projects,” said school board member Lori Holmes. “One of the projects is a pool that’s very important to our community,” she said, adding that due to the cost of construction, the district was running low on funds to finish the project.
